ABOUT

Aino Simola is a freelance costume designer, artist, and artisan based in Southern Finland. She received her MA in Art and Design from Aalto University in 2021 and she has been working as a costume designer already since 2013. She has a special interest in immersive theatre, circus and creating art for young audiences.

Recently, she has expanded her expertise by studying Construction Engineering, enabling her to tackle large-scale technical projects like the Crinoline 2.0 installation.

​

Simola has her background in dressmaking and millinery. Her previous employers for such positions include well established theatre houses such as The Finnish National Opera and Ballet and Dance Theatre Hurjaruuth in Helsinki.
